Now, what if a girl asks you 'Hey bab, shall i know you?' and you'll be like 'Jesus Christ, Hi.. I'm bla bla,' and things goes out of control. You Tell her each and everything you liked, you don't liked, what your parents doing, what your puppy's name, which color of underwear you wear, Oops i might have write bitter truth here. :))

So, the Same psychology goes on in interview scenario. Organization wants to know who are you and what is your social background, but the pressure from our brain chemicals seems tremendous. that's the reason most of the candidates failed to maintain the 'First Impression in Interview'. believe me this is as simple as your crush asking for a Date. 

Let me tell you my story. In 2009, i had faced my first Job interview and i was like bunch of FBI agents triggered gun on my head to accept that i'm the most wanted terrorists and I've to confess my crime. after my interview was over, my interviewer had also interview for his next job. we went downstairs at that time i was not that kind of nervous like he was. at that time i realized, No matter you are freshers or experienced, there is psychological pressure every-time when you herd about your next interview.

Why 'Tell me about yourself question' is important 

-> To know your family & social background.

-> To know your financial condition.

-> To know your education background.

-> To know your past.

-> To know your projects, your achievements.

-> To know your past job experience.

-> To know about Whole 'YOU' like your girl friend wants to know.

Tell me about yourself best answers 

1) First, Take a deep Breath and forgot about all the worries about interviewers & HR.

2) Create funny mood as if The way you are going to meet a girl on date. (well if you have fear for that too then you need to heal your fear. 

3) Write down what is your parents, your family members are doing? How many members are in family?

4) Write down your education level such as your graduation year, your post graduation year, you medium (english or others), your score, your university's name, and any other academic achievements.

5) (If you are fresher, skip this portion) write down your previous all experience.

here is my personal answers in axis bank's interview which was held in September 2013 and i was elected first from 40 candidates. Interviewer name was Mr. Mahim Bhandari (VP, HR)

Mahim : after seeing my name in resume and written examination score with smile ' Hello Mr, Bhushan Chhaya ' 

I : ' Hello Sir, ' 

Mahim : straightly ' Tell me about yourself ' 

I was little bit nervous as expected but i focused on my breath and exactly answered the following lines. 

Me : ' Hello Sir, Good Morning.. My name is ....., I'm living at ......, My age is ......, Let me tell you my family information first, we have four family members. My Parents, Sister and myself. My father was working with...... now he is retired and enjoying his life. My mom is house wife. My sister is working with ........ Organization since last ..... Years.. 

now wait for 1 second and take a deep breath. :sigh:

Let me introduce myself.. I've Complete my graduation with through out first class in Gujarati medium at ...... University. as far as my experience is concern, My first job was in .... company which known to provide .... services. then after (date and year) I've joined ..... organization for better career and growth options (or a reason for your leave). 

now wait for 1 second and take a deep breath.

in my first corporate experience, I've achieved number of certificates by my employers which were "best operations on Gujarat region" & "best cost cutting office management" 

that's it. after that interviewer generally asked one of your second company's experience details or what you have done in your experienced corporate career. 

for freshers, you have to present your whole academic achievements first. after then interviewers automatically move on to your knowledge about their organizations or your expectations from them. 

Tips : 

-> Eye to eye contact with your interviewers mandatory.

-> Stops between sentences is quiet necessary because they might get you that you have copied and memorized whole article from Jobgyaan
